Hi all,
I relocated to a small town 30ish miles east of KC after living in Gerlach, NV. BM09 will be my 10th year as a Black Rock City resident. No one where I am living has a clue what Burning Man is or what it means to be a burner. I miss the community mind I have come to love with my ever expanding burner family.
I gave a call to KK for some intros and he suggested I post here and taunt you all 'your not real burners'. I'd like to be the judge of that for myself. Looking forward to making new friends.

We also have a Yahoo group which is a lot more active than Tribe, simply because Tribe goes down so much. Most folks have made the move to Facebook.

Yes I actually lived in Gerlach. A year round desert rat. I miss it. The humidity here is taking some getting used to. -

I come from the heart of the Arizona Desert, and somehow have always missed out on burningman..though i have many close friends who go regularly. AND DAMN IT I WANNA GO! -

Mon, May 25, 2009 - 8:27 PM*FD* knows of what she speaks....the humidity here is all too often like a steam bath. I suppose it's worse in the extreme Southern US, like in Mississippi and Louisiana, but they have other concerns, too...like hurricanes.

not a midwest burner (dallas, tx), but I will say that they are some amazing people who i have enjoyed meeting repeatedly at interfuse, flipside, and brc (if i'm lucky, i'll convince some to come down for myschievia). you will find they are a great bunch of individuals with a lot of love and creativity to share.
i wish you luck in your new location and hope you find welcome with your new burner family.

I was hoping to connect an old school/old good friend from Gerlach, Nevada to Burners in Missouri!
If you don't know Jen, you should!
She has more history than ME from the Playa.
The years I spent there are NOTHING compared to this sweet humble woman.
Like Halston who was there when Burningman first moved to the Black Rock Desert.
I am getting a bit pissed off at the Ego's here.
