Repost from yahoo list
Thu, September 3, 2009 - 8:10 AMHowdy again. Looks like I may have jumped the gun on the "genny received" message due to some serious lack of e-mail comprehension on my part so... call for gennies and transport is still out there... (see below message)
This message, though, is much more serious. Chase is going to Resonance, leaving those of us at Hulla with a curiously shaped void in our mashed potatoes. However, this does represent a once-in-a-year chance for you, HullabalU attendees! Have you found yourself riding around in the back of Medack's truck thinking "damn, that Chase is such a chump! I could run this army better than him!"? Carpe Diem, young padawan, and be HullabalU's TLA HMIC.

Not quite ready for such an awesome responsibility? No worries. There are still LOTS of volunteer opportunities available (seriously. a lot. c'mon people. what? you need another link?)
www.midwestburners.com/hullab...er.html
A couple of other points of dubious interest for the few of you still reading this:
1) Is anyone planning to be our gracious gifting tree guru at Hulla? and
2) The Dish sent out a Hippie Call on Monday andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/th...tml
Gatheringly,
Stormy

>
> Hey all...we're going to need power for the gate & for Center Camp at Hulla, so I thought I'd see if any generous prospective Hulla attendees would want to loan a genny to the cause. You get bonus karma points!
>
> The gate will just need to run some lights on Saturday night, so I've been told that maybe a mariner battery would suffice for that? Center camp will need to run lights and recharge radios, so I'm thinking a genny for that.
>
> ALSO--structure transport is in short supply. If you have a truck and would haul our structures from KC to OA on the morning/early afternoon of September 25th, I can personally guarantee that you will be showered with gratitude.

Mon, September 14, 2009 - 8:17 PMThere be things appearing on the website! *gasp* Get yours listed, too!
www.midwestburners.com/hullab...ts.html

EG/LNT Potluck at at the EG station, Sunday at 11:00 followed by the LNT MOOP sweep at noon(ish)
*Camp Share Yer Booty*
We are Camp Share Yer Booty, and we are pirates!! look for us in full pirate regalia, dragging our Booty Chest around the festival for some mobile gifting fun!!
*The Giving Tree*
Give & take, yin & yang, pete & repeat...wait...Back again, it's the Giving Tree. Leave something. Take something. It's all up to you. The Giving Tree
embraces the gift culture and promotes the re-use of consumer goods by connecting your unwanted possessions with new and grateful owners... One man's trash is not always another man's treasure, however, so be conscientious when deciding what to leave under her branches. And remember the weather--consider placing books in ziploc bags (which can then be reused as storage for dry socks!) -

Fri, September 18, 2009 - 7:51 AMYay! Can't wait to see y'all! Btw, thanks again for the genny offer, but I guess Rhino is bringing his genny for center camp...I'm always the last to know these things :) -

Re: HullabalU will be here
Fri, September 18, 2009 - 7:15 PMStormy, I love ya and all, but I've been communicating direct with mamakat so I don't mess the list. Chain of command, doncha know? You call out for me, I'll be there for ya, but the chain seems to work pretty well.
The recurrent problem for leaders is they needs to trust their peeps. Stormy, mamakat, Zay, whoever.....when the Rhino says he'll cover ya, he'll cover ya. Now that you can trust us minions, now you can go LEAD. I'll follow ya, Stormy. -

Re: HullabalU will be here
Fri, September 18, 2009 - 8:04 PMIt's not lack of trust, it's lack of knowledge. Now that I know you are bringing the genny, I trust that you will. Before I knew that, however, I didn't KNOW who was going to bring power for center camp.

Re: HullabalU InfoDump
Mon, September 21, 2009 - 10:17 AMSo, there's this little thing going on this coming weekend...I don't know if you've heard about it...
But seriously, folks, if you are coming to HullabalU, please read this. I know it's long, but I think you'll make it.
First, of course, is the obligatory volunteer call. I know we haven't been nagging you (there's that word again!) as much, but we still have a lot of greeting/parking spots to fill and our LNT team is, well, more of a couple than a team really. So...here's your linkage
www.midwestburners.com/hullab...er.html
Volunteering in advance gives us a little peace of mind and allows us to plan a little better, BUT if you're more of a spontaneous sort or have trouble with commitment, we are always overjoyed to have people volunteer onsite as well.
Second, HullabalU is open to MWB members and their guests ONLY. Sooo...you have a day or two to get that there membership form filled out.
www.midwestburners.com/membership/
If you're already a member but can't get your digital digits on your confirmation e-mail, message Zay before Wednesday for another copy.
www.midwestburners.com/contact/zay/
Each member can bring up to 7 guests (this includes spouse and children). No one under the age of 18 will be allowed into HullabalU without a parent or legal guardian present. If your teenagers are driving separately, you have to be onsite for them to be allowed into the event. Seriously. Also, if you arrive on Friday, you MUST get to the gate Saturday morning to register. I have authorized extreme penalties for anyone running around without a wristband on Saturday...
Third, things are going to be a bit different at the gate. Not a lot different--you'll still hand your monies to OA ($10/person 13 & over), fill out the registration book, and get a wristband--but there are some notable changes. There's a guest of/child of column in the registration book. If you're a member, leave that blank. If you're a guest, you would put G/# (with number being the line number of your sponsoring member) and if you're under 18 or if you're signing in your minor child you would put C/#. Simple, eh? Also, parents will sign the waiver for their minor (under 18) children.
As far as wristbands go, adults will get the typical 21+ wristband (like at IF) and everyone else will get the underager bands. A big difference is that we will be writing everyone's line number (from the registration book) on their wristbands. Those under 18 will get an 'X' on either side of the line number. If you are 18 or older and somehow get X's on your wristband, bring your ID to the gate and we'll get you a new one. If you are there with your minor child and they don't have X's on their wristband, bring them to the gate and we'll fix that, too. Or, yano, grab a sharpie...but only if it's your kid. As fun as it sounds, don't go around tagging random kids with sharpies, eh?
Fourth, there will be no campsite parking! You must unload your gear and return your car to a designated parking area. If you need to keep your vehicle at your camp (for power, for medical reasons, because you're sleeping in it), contact Maev by Wednesday to sign up for a parking pass.
people.tribe.net/maev
If the weather sucks, Maev & OA may decide there will be no parking at campsites at all. Keep the mud in mind when deciding whether or not you need your vehicle at your site.
Fifth, Supplies...we needs them. Single-ply TP for the Frog Bog, of course. The gate could use a little help as well--if you are going to arrive on Friday or Saturday morning and you could lend us a battery-powered boom box/CD player and/or a fairly powerful battery powered light (for registering folks after dark), we would be most grateful.
Sixth, If you are planning an event and want to get listed, message me today or tomorrow and we'll hook you up.
www.midwestburners.com/hullab...ts.html
Finally, if you have managed to read all of this, I figure you deserve something yummy. So...I'm officially announcing that the effigy burn will take place at 10:30 on Saturday night. Yup, there will be an effigy and we will have BIG FIRE! Come one, come all. We would love it if you drummers out there want to pull together and give us some beats. And fire spinners are welcome to do their thing, but you guys are on your own for fuel, tools, safety/spotters (i.e. we aren't having a procession/preburn ceremony thing) so I expect you to be 1) SOBER and 2) Uber Vigilant. This also means that Mamakat & Rhino could use some burn perimeter volunteers....
